Day 4...out of Oklahoma and into a Texas blizzard

What's that, you say? A blizzard in Texas? Yup. And a bad one at that. I got snowed shortly after I drove into the Texas border. Mother Nature's small reminder to me of where I come from. I made a stop at a restaurant which is actually on my Rt. 66 map. The Big Texan Steak House...home of the free 72 oz. sirloin steak. Holy balls, this place is right out of a movie. EVERYONE (but me) was wearing a plaid shirt, jeans, cowboy boots, and a cowboy hat. Boy did I feel like a fish out of water. When I walked in I felt like a stranger walking into a family reunion...a very rednecky, very fat, family reunion. But back to the steak, as I'm sure you're wondering why it's free. That's right, just like the old John Candy movie (can anyone remember the name?) if you can eat the whole steak, fat, gristle and all....AND the side salad, shrimp cocktail, and beverage, it's all free. There's an homage on the wall to those who've done it. Jesus Texans are fat.
